Biography Miami artist, Katey Penner, emerged in the South Florida art community in 2007. She is recognized for her bold, expressionistic approach to painting. She creates portraits and urban landscapes using a tropical palette that mirrors the brilliant sunsets and city lights of South Florida. She opened Penner Studio in the Futurama Building in Little Havana in 2012 where she established Golden Palettes Painting, a program dedicated to arts for seniors. She continues to commit her time to painting and teaching art. She currently exhibits with The MUCE 305 Gallery at their campus in Little Haiti, Futurama Galleries on Calle Ocho, and the Gifford Lane Fine Arts Collective. Artist Statement 'I want to capture the energy and feeling of a person or place in each painting. Being able to reveal my art and share experiences through local events is my conduit to the community, who is my inspiration.'
